The images can be split in the horizontal or vertical direction. The split can be adjusted over the full screen area with the front panel control. A lower right corner insert mode is also available. The Fade mode allows the two images to be added together. The mix can be adjusted over the entire range from a full camera A image to a full camera B image. Below is an example of the different modes.

Included in the system are two 1/2", 480 line, high performance color video cameras with 768x494 chip resolution. Each camera connects to the main unit with a single cable which provides power, genlock and video, making setup fast and simple. The cameras have a standard C/CS lens mount.

The MPX309 produces S-video and composite video while the MPX709 produces RGB, Sync, S-video and composite video. All color mixing is made at the component video level, thereby avoiding errors which are more likely when using encoded signals. Encoding to S-video and composite video is done after the mixing circuitry.

Power is provided by a desk top power supply (included) or it can be powered from a single +12VDC (negative ground) power source. DC power consumption is about 12 Watts. The included power supply will operate over a wide range of 100-240VAC and has UL, CSA and CE approvals.
