The MicroImage MPX309 and
MPX709 Video Comparator System is a dual camera system used to compare two color images on
the same monitor. The system consists of two MicroImage M100 high resolution, B&W
Video Cameras,
a PX701C9 Video Split Screen/Fade controller, two camera cables, a monitor cable and power
supply. The single power supply provides power for the two cameras as well as the PX701C9.Two simultaneously displayed
images allow for quick comparisons that are necessary in bio-medical, forensics and
industrial applications. Items such as tissue and blood cells, ballistic samples and
fibers can all be displayed for comparison on a video monitor. In pathological or
oncological situations, changes in tissue development can be easily compared and monitored
over time. Making comparisons in industrial applications, especially in the semiconductor
industry, allows the manufacturer to check production accuracy against a known standard.
Small variations can be detected before they become costly.
Either image can be displayed by itself,
or combined with the image from the other camera in several ways. The picture can be split
on the screen (showing a portion of each image) or mixed (faded) together as an overlay.
The images can be split in the horizontal or vertical direction. The split can be adjusted over the full screen area with the front panel control. A lower right corner insert mode is also available. The Fade mode allows the two images to be added together. The mix can be adjusted over the entire range from a full camera A image to a full camera B image. Below is an example of the different modes.
Included in the system are two 1/2", 480 line, high performance color video cameras with 768x494 chip resolution. Each camera connects to the main unit with a single cable which provides power, genlock and video, making setup fast and simple. The cameras have a standard C/CS lens mount. The MPX309 produces S-video and composite video while the MPX709 produces RGB, Sync, S-video and composite video. All color mixing is made at the component video level, thereby avoiding errors which are more likely when using encoded signals. Encoding to S-video and composite video is done after the mixing circuitry. Power is provided by a desk top power supply (included) or it can be powered from a single +12VDC (negative ground) power source. DC power consumption is about 12 Watts. The included power supply will operate over a wide range of 100-240VAC and has UL, CSA and CE approvals. The PX701C9 unit is also available as a board level product for OEM applications and system integrators . Each MPX309/MPX709 Video Comparator System carries a limited one year parts and labor warranty. |
