 The
MicroImage Video Systems AutomatiCam series are high resolution CCD video cameras designed
to meet a wide range of applications. Models are available specifically designed for
surgical requirements. All camera systems include a power supply and video cable - just
add an appropriate monitor.The MicroImage AutomatiCams are state of the art, microprocessor controlled, auto exposure cameras. They include our proprietary, high speed, ultra-smooth auto shutter technology which virtually eliminates shutter "blinking". This shutter has a wide range of 1/60 to 1/125,000 second. The exposure controller optimizes the shutter and digital gain systems to provide a low noise, correctly exposed picture. The ½ inch, high density 768 x 484 pixel HyperHAD™ image sensor provides 470 lines of horizontal resolution in NTSC/S-Video and 500 lines in RGB. A light sensitivity of 0.3 lux on the image sensor allows use on darker fields. All of the cameras provide simultaneous NTSC video and S-Video (YC) outputs. The RGB cameras also have a simultaneous RGB output. RGB signal processing is from our proprietary MicroImage High Resolution Matrix RGB System which provides improved color matching to the NTSC and S-Video signals, while maintaining a higher resolution. The MicroImage Matrix RGB System also has timing compensation to reduce edge smear and stair step effects. All signals can be utilized at the same time without any signal degradation.
Peak or Average detection can be selected to maximize performance with different types of microscopes. Peak is suited to compound scopes while Average is optimized for stereo and surgical scopes. Gain is digitally controlled by the auto exposure algorithm and, on models with a CCU, can be internally disabled. Five different white balance modes can be selected including Auto (ATW), 3200°K, 5600°K, Halogen and Xenon. |

Models that have a Camera
Control Unit (CCU) can change the shutter speed, white balance, detection mode and shutter
lock. Manual shutter speeds are from 1/60 (off) to 1/15,000. An exposure lock function
will hold the camera at the current exposure, while not allowing any further changes. This
feature is beneficial for image analysis work.
